Stand Against Big Rigs on I-580

Reacting to pressure from the California Trucking Association (CTA), a freight industry lobbying group, Caltrans has initiated a study to evaluate the effects of overturning the decades-old ban on heavy trucks on Interstate 580. Overturning the Truck Ban will not only affect traffic on I-580, it will result in a major increase in truck traffic on Highway 13, as well as other East Bay highways and streets, as trucks find new routes to avoid congestion.
